40 Days of Prayer

40 Days of Prayer
February 17
7:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Join Pastor Ben for a short time of devotional, prayer, and spiritual renewal beginning at 6:30pm. (Click for more Details)

Think of the significance of the number 40 in the Bible.  40 days and nights at the flood. Moses spent 40 years in the wilderness before leading the Children of Israel out of Egypt. Moses was on Sinai for 40 days. He interceded for Israel for 40 days. The Israelite spies were in Canaan for 40 days. Goliath taunted Saul's army for 40 days before David got there. And there's more in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, Jesus fasted and prayed for 40 days in the wilderness. There was 40 days between his resurrection and ascension back to heaven.

It would seem that the number 40 has significance in the Bible, yet the number itself has nothing directly attributed to it. We might surmise then that the number 40 is used to emphasize a spiritual truth. That truth, though not directly stated, could be an emphasis on our relationship with God. For in every instance, the relationship between God and humanity is at some level tested.

Starting January 2, Pastor Ben will be leading a time of devotional, prayer, and spiritual renewal virtually from the Springdale Church. Each day, there will be short devotionals and thoughts to consider and  then pray about posted at his website (www.orian.us). Then on Wednesday evenings, beginning at 6:30pm, Pastor Ben will be live-streaming from the church a short devotional, Bible study and prayer time. Join him in 40 DAYS of prayer and spiritual renewal as we begin 2021. If you would like to come to the church and be a part of a live audience, you may do so. Masks and social distancing are required.
